National Public Radio’s This American Life with Ira Glass will be talking about the widow penalty starting Friday (March 28, 2008)! I encourage you to take a listen to the 30 second introductory trailer on This American Life’s website http://www.thislife.org/Radio_Episode.aspx?episode=353 and also to check out which radio stations in your area are airing the program - http://www2.pri.org/PublicSite/listeners/programlocator.asp

I took a look at some major cities, and here are some examples of the radio stations and times:

Washington, D.C. – WAMU-FM 88.5 Saturday 12:00 pm

New York City, NY – WNYC-FM 93.9 Sunday 6 pm

Miami, FL – WLRN-FM 92.1 Sat. 12pm; Sunday 10 am

Los Angeles, CA – KCLU-FM 88.3 Friday 7pm; Sat. 11 am

You just have to select “This American Life” and your State, and the radio stations will all display. National Public Radio is virtually everywhere, and This American Life is an extremely well-listened to national program. Jack Hitt with TAL did a really in-depth look at this issue. If you miss the radio version, you should be able to listen to it online at the thislife.org website. Make sure to tell your friends to listen.
