OTHER PERMANENT VISAS

Other permanent visas include those available under more unique provisions of Immigration Law, such as provisions pertaining to what is commonly known as:

• The "Lottery" - a certain number of visas are allotted to many countries each year and nationals of those countries may apply for a green card by filing in the "Lottery."
  
• "Registry" - a manner of legalizing status if one has been present continuously in the U.S. since 1 972, and can prove good moral character.
