ASC Offices Working at Reduced Capacity due to Pandemic, allowing Walk-Ins for Military Applicants

On December 30, DHS announced that over the summer and fall it had scaled back up its ASC appointments, but that as of late October, the average capacity for ASC appointments still was only 65 percent of what it had been pre-pandemic. That followed a total suspension of appointments between March and June of last year. It resumed some appointments in July, and as of September, the average appointment rate was at about 50 percent of pre-pandemic rates.

DHS also announced that, as long as the current cutbacks, it will not accept walk-ins, except for US military applicants and their family members.
